Dumbarton Curling Club Opens the Doors for New Members

If you’ve ever watched curling and thought, “I could definitely do that… probably… maybe… well it looks fun anyway,” then this is your moment. Dumbarton Curling Club is gearing up for a brand‑new season, and we’re officially on the hunt for fresh faces, curious beginners, and anyone who fancies giving Scotland’s coolest sport a go.

Whether you’re a seasoned slider or someone whose only experience with ice is slipping on it outside Tesco, you’re warmly invited to join us. Curling is friendly, social, surprisingly tactical, and—best of all—full of laughs. And yes, you really do get to use those big sweeping brushes. It’s basically housework, but with applause.

🌟 Try Curling Session – Come Give It a Shot

To help you dip your toe (or your slider) into the sport, come along to a Try Curling session—a relaxed, one‑off introduction where you can learn the basics, and discover why curlers are some of the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.  Contact our Secretary below for dates and times.

No experience needed. No special equipment required. No pressure. Just turn up, have fun, and see what all the fuss is about.

👥 Who Can Join?

Absolutely anyone. If you can smile, you can curl. If you can laugh at yourself, you’ll fit right in. If you can stand on ice without reenacting Bambi, that’s a bonus—but not essential.  The only caveat is we would prefer that juniors under the age of 16 are accopanied by a parent/guardian or other resposible adult.

• Dumbarton is the only club to hold Gold Accreditation status with Scottish Curling, the games governing bodies
• Fully qualified coaches available to help all members, especially beginners
